Dizzy my future, Silly my way

I had a friend back when I was just starting elementary school in Japan. I could call him the longest friend I had when I was still living there. His name was Nishidomari Yuuta. All the boys called him by his nickname, Nisshi-, most of the girls called him Yuuta kun. I was probably the only girl that called him by his nickname.
From grade 1 to grade 3, all the elementary years before I left Japan, he always ended up in the same class with me somehow. (We would always go on and on about how we never wanted to be in the same class again.) I was popular and cheerful around my girl classmates and actually “tsundere” to all the guys because I used to have crushes every five seconds, but Nisshi- was the only one I had a very brother-rival like relation with. We were always the top two in gym class. We were always the two that teachers had trouble with. Whenever we saw each other I would yell out “GORILLA!!!” (because he always made a gorilla-like face) and he would tell me my hair’s too long, or lie to me that I have a booger on my cheek.
He was the joker of the whole grade and I was the queen-bee back then. I never realized how much time I spent laughing and running with him until I left. One of the most vivid memories with him is though, was at lunch. I could never eat fast at lunch and my teacher wouldn’t let me go out for recess unless I finished my meal, so everyday I had to stay in while everyone else played to finish eating. I remember Nisshi- came back for me a few times from recess to hassle me to eat fast so we can play tag. And then soon, he stopped being the first to run out and stayed with me until I finished eating. He usually got bored waiting so he danced and made funny faces in front of me and I remember I chocked countless times on my food because I couldn’t stop laughing.
It’s been 7 years since I last saw him; we were both 9 years old back then. Now I’m 16 here, and he’s 16 somewhere else on the other side of the Earth. I drew him here as what I think he would look like now. I always look for his face whenever I go back to Japan because without me knowing back then, he was probably the closest friend I had. I still have his goodbye letter he gave to me. He was trying to be really cool so all he wrote on one piece of paper with his almost un-readable hand writing was: sayonara. There’s so many things I want to thank him about, I hope we can meet again someday like we always did.
